Be a doer, not just a hearer * This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. (Joshua 1:8) * When is then? It is after we have done what the word of God tells us to do. * One thing the word clearly tells us is that we can not expect to have prosperity if we dont tithe be cause by refusing to pay our tithe, we are robbing God. * A lack of doing is a road block to the blessed life God has planned for us. * These people draw near Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me. (Matthew 15:8) * It is interesting how many people say that they believe something, but their belief is nothing but mental assent. * God knows our heart, and he knows what we can do and what we cannot do. * The devil tries to convince us that we are different from everybody else so that we keep asking Why is every body else getting their break through, and Im not? * Now God delivers people at different times- it may be soon, or it may take some time. We must leave that to God because our time is in His hands. * The difference may be that they have done what hes said and we have not. * We get all excited when we hear about receiving the blessings, but our flesh doesnt get excited at all about the doing part of receiving that blessing. * Do the works of God, not the works of the flesh. * Activity birthed out of the flesh will prevent us from living in His Blessings. BLESSINGS FOLLOW DOING * What a profound mystery that Christ came as a servant to us, yet we find it hard to serve others. * Jesus gave His disciples that example by washing his disciples feet and then telling them, If I then, your Lord and Teacher (Master), have washed your feet, you ought (It is your duty, you are under obligation, you owe it) to wash one anothers feet. * He was actually saying to the disciples and us to Help each other. Take care of each other. Do for one another. Meet each others needs. * We are going to be blessed because we do what Jesus did. * Reaching the goal of serving others means living the way Jesus would live- and with Gods help, we can reach that goal. but it takes time and effort. * The more we adapt ourselves to the ways of Jesus, the more his blessings will fill our lives. * You and I cannot be a servant if we dont know who we are in Christ. * We need to be doers of the word and not just hearers. * You and I have all kinds of opportunities to be doers of the word that we let us pass by all the time. * As a person In Christour actions should demonstrate love, not selfishness and self-centeredness. * Joy increases as selfishness decreases. * Our house is not built upon a rock because we hear the word. Our house is built upon a rock because we do the word. * With knowledge comes responsibility. * So any person who knows what is right to do, but does not do it, to him it is sin. (James 4:17) * Do you realize every time we read the Bible, we take on more responsibility * Because we are getting educated, and we become more responsible before God for what we know. * With knowledge we have been given power and authority to tread on the enemy and all his demons, that we are to resist the devil and he will flee from us, we become responsible before God to keep the devil under our feet. * Satan may have a plan for our destruction, but God already has a plan for our deliverance and victory.
