Be careful about seeking wise counsel from people who have their own agenda/bias regarding your future plans. Even if theyre well-intentioned, they cannot escape their own paradigm. Stay true to what youre truly passionate about, dont allow anyone to talk you out of it, and dont let someone take advantage of you for their own self-serving motives. Get counsel from people who dont have anything to gain from you. Sometimes this means having uncomfortable conversations. Find your 20 seconds of courage. Chances are in ten years, youll look back in retrospect and be glad you did.
