Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it... It was - TopicsExpress

Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it... It was only 24 hours after I posted about my bags being unpacked that I got a phone call from my manager on behalf of my regional manager. I was requested, I was offered, a temporary management position at The Modesto, CA office until the new manager was fully trained. Guaranteed pay, meal expenses, hotel, and a specific time frame, one month, until the end of January. Its not something you just turn down, especially if you had just 2 weeks before, rubbed elbows with that same regional manager with your local manager at a roulette and black jack tables for hours. Then afterward used their help to take care of my car that had decided to completely die on the way to meet them with my date, my best friend in reno, Jennifer Longworth. I railed against it.... I had just put down roots. I was getting settled. I had a new lover and was looking forward to reconnecting with others. I was reconnecting with friends. Yes, I had moved into the Morris with a rent payment I could afford to keep paying and travel again at a moments notice when I wanted to, but I didnt expect the call would come so soon. However work is slow here now, almost painfully and I had just been handed an answer in the form of a glowing compliment. I had basically created a new position for myself in the company. Something no one else in the company does so fully. A roving tech, a roving manager. An employee that was able to supplement any other branch in the company in any way. While doing so I earned my way to the annual SuperStar sales contest (The best of the best) as a technician for the first time ever, while working in multiple offices, and I got noticed. So I go on the road again, and Im grateful. Oh so very grateful to have this amazing job that fills me with satisfaction in a way Ive never known. 5 years ago I sat at a table at the national convention for my company with 3 brothers Jared Hunt, Jason Hunt, and Nate Hunt, who are also my cousins I had the joy of working with at that time. We were all talking about what we wanted to do in 5 years. I said simply that I wanted to be paid to inspire people, but I had no idea what I meant. I stand here once again today, that man, and my heart is full. I have worked in more offices that any other employee in the company, I have touched more lives than I can count, and likewise have been repeatedly inspired by more people that I can relate here. Ive said it before, dream, dream with your eyes WIDE open, be open to opportunity, and LIVE your dreams!
