Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin. Psalm 51:1,2 NASB #whatsgrace4 In these 2 verses David is calling on our gracious God to release grace to him because he was under the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. David had sinned and the pleasure of sin had run its course. David wants relieve and release from the inner entanglements that breaking Gods heart with his irresponsible choices. David requests two things from God that grace gives - 1. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity 2. Cleanse me from my sin Iniquity is the root of the problem, It is the why we sin. Sin is the fruit, or the result of our iniquity. It is what we did. David is imploring God to wash and cleanse him. Those two are vitally important parts of the redemptive process that removes the problem from us so that we can remove ourselves from the problem. Washing removes the filth off and out of us! Cleansing removes us from wanting to continue living irresponsibly! Keep THE Faith! Keep THE Passion! Our hunger & thirst FOR God escorts us into deep satisfaction IN God! Matthew 5:6
