Be happy It is very dark and foggy, Reason enough to be gloomy, Brighten up and happy you be, Even if the sky is cloudy I’ve lost my strength, my blissful youth; No hair, no teeth, and that’s the truth, All my songs that I loved the most, They’re gone; in the past they are lost. But be happy! You being gloomy, Won’t make you younger or groovy, Or bring you back those golden days, To help you ride old pleasures’ waves. I lost my love; she was so kind, I feel so hurt it wounds my mind, But brighten up and be happy, She could have been a misery. I’ve been deprived for quite a while, How can I even fake a smile? It’s Eid, the season of giving, But what can I with no shilling? But brighten up and be happy, For nature’s gifts are all for free, The trees so green, the birds, the bees, The skies, the hills with whitest peaks So be happy and with your eyes, Observe the skies and try being wise! The stars above, they always shine, In deepest darkness all the time.
