*********Be productive for God and America!************ Henry Brown, President ****************Columbus and Dr. Seuss**************** United States of America and District of Columbia: references to the two famous men are not an indication of a fascination with explorers on the part of our Founding Fathers. Our Founding Fathers learned as toddlers; A is for Adam- in Adam’s fall we sinned all, B is for Bible, C is for Christ etc. Latin was commonly taught during the founding period. Columbus; Latin for a dove was, and still is, commonly understood as the Christian symbol for God’s spirit (i.e. the Spirit descending as a dove upon Jesus at his baptism). Columbus, Christopher was interpreted as a man with God’s spirit, bearer of Christ. This interpretation aligned perfectly with Columbus’ description of himself, his mission and the vision of America’s Founding Fathers (I.e. to be a Christian light to the world). The connection between Columbus and Columbia lies not in the Latin definition of a bird but what the bird symbolizes: God’s Holy Spirit, the power behind the Novus ordo Seclorum. “Almighty God...through obedience to Thy law, may we show forth Thy Praise among the nations of the earth... through Jesus Christ our Lord ...” Thomas Jefferson “It was the Lord who put into my mind (I could feel His Hand upon me) to sail from here to the Indies. All who heard of my project rejected it with laughter, ridiculing me. There is no question that my inspiration was from the Holy Spirit, because He comforted me with rays of marvelous illumination from the Holy Scriptures, encouraging me continually to press forward…. No one should fear to undertake any task in the name of our Savior, if it is just and if the intention is purely for His Holy service…O what a gracious Lord, Who desires that people should perform for Him those things for which He holds Himself responsible! Day and night, moment by moment, everyone should express to Him their most devoted gratitude.” Christopher Columbus How modern Americans (who learned their alphabet with talking vegetables and Dr. Seuss) interpret the meaning of Columbus, directly affects how they respond to Jesus’, “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.” Our government (Caesar) indoctrinators obviously prefer the children to see Columbus as simply a great explorer and not open the real historical Columbia (A nation with God’s Spirit) box. To a great extent, apparently neither does the modern Christian church.
