Be still and know that I am God...Ps 46:10. I want to thank God for all He has done for me! I know this summer has been challenging, but God is molding me and teaching me lessons everyday. We had a care conference meeting... We were fully expecting to go in and sign all consents for her tracheostomy and g tube surgeries, but this meeting was very different from this. Tuesday in the chronic lung meeting, they discussed maycee in great detail. Her neonatologist presented her case with the bronchogram and results of biopsy. Pulmonology was there and addressed the treatment of the PIG disorder, and they were really not wanting to trach her. They do want to treat her with pulsed steroids for 3 days a month. They started her first dose today then we will do one tomorrow and Friday. The plan is to extubate Friday afternoon and see how she flies! If she does well and responds well with slower rate of breathing, no high oxygen needs, and her co2 levels remaining good... We may not need the trach. I was in total shock of the change of plans, because in our mind it was so final that the trach was the plan of action. I prayed all my way to work Monday that if she really didnt need a trach that something would come up and change their mind. Then I felt the Lord bring to mind the time Paul asked for the thorn in the flesh to be removed and after the 3rd time Gods response was my grace is sufficient for thee... In your weakness Ill will make you strong. In my devotions since the whole thing began was the theme of waiting patiently for the Lord. Im praising God for the steps that we have thought was a delay in care actually worked together to show us vital information that we needed to know. He is in control no matter what happens! I dont know what His plan for Maycee is, but we are to be still and know that He works everything together for our good... sometimes that means trials, but may He get the glory for everything, and we never want to cease to Praise Him!! God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
