Be sure and check out the Llano Outdoor Expo page for info this great weekend planned for October 11, 12, 13! Here is a quick overview: Friday Night, October 11th — 6:30 Women’s Dinner at the Methodist Church. The speaker for the dinner is Edwina Patterson. Edwina is wife and mother, an author, sought after conference speaker, has a syndicated radio ministry, and has a heart for women. Her candid talk will draw on lessons from her own life, both the up and the downs, and focus on redeeming time and doing what is really important in life. Tickets are $10 and include entry for some great door prizes. Be sure and buy two tickets, one for you and one to treat a friend to an evening out. Saturday, October 12th Family Day—10:00 am—3:00 pm. Grab the whole family and come on out to the Llano Events Center (rodeo arena) for a day chock full of free family fun. There will be bounce houses, a dunk tank, amazing hunting displays, games, booths, food, prizes live music and special presentations including: The Amazing Kingdom Dogs—It is difficult to explain in words what makes Kingdom Dog so powerful. Put simply it is a man and dog teaching the power of obedience. What really makes Kingdom Dog unique though is the ability to relate to every man, woman and child in attendance no matter where they are in life. There will be two presentations by Hank and his amazing labs. Jason Mann of Ascend Outdoor Adventures—Jason is certified as a Single Pitch Instructor by the American Mountain Guides Association, and is also certified as a Wilderness First Responder by the Wilderness Medicine Institute of the National Outdoor Leadership School. Jason will be sharing from his wealth of experience in the areas of climbing and outdoor adventure sports. Fred Reyna—They say diamonds are a girls best friend, except when they are on the backs of one of Fred’s friends. Ask any of the children who has seen Fred in school, and they will tell you he puts on quite the show as he talks about the Hill Country’s Rattlin’ reptiles. Oh, Deer— We will also be having a speaker who will be talking about the hunt. Everything from when to shoot and when not to, to feeding and breeding. Saturday Night - 6:00 Men’s Dinner at First Baptist. The Speaker for the dinner will be Jay Lowder. Jay is a dynamic communicator with a passion and power that is riveting. Jay has been featured on 15 major networks and has been profiled in countless newspapers and articles including ESPN Outdoors. Jay has a compelling story to share that includes the despair that brought him to the place where he put a pistol continued on page 5 to his temple, only to be interrupted by a roommate returning early. Men, his presentation alone is worth the $10 ticket price, but it includes a great meal, door prizes and more. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend to enjoy a great evening that will change his life forever. Sunday Morning—10:00 Come and join the churches of the Llano area as we come together at the rodeo arena for a morning of worship and celebration. Jay Lowder will be bringing a compelling message of hope that is available through Christ. This is a service you will not want to miss as the “church” of Hill Country comes together.
