Be sure to watch the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Years Day and see all of the work done by the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee On behalf of the 2015 Rotary Rose Parade Float committee, we are proud to share this years Float rendering and name. Rotary International President Elect Gary CK Huang’s theme is “Light Up Rotary.” The Tournament of Roses Parade’s theme is “Inspiring Stories.” One of Rotary’s most inspiring stories, and one of Rotary’s areas of focus, is the work we do around the world to bring clean water and sanitation to millions of those who lack these vital resources. More than 2.5 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation facilities. It is reported that at least 3,000 children die each day from diarrheal diseases caused by unsafe water. With this in mind, the name of the committee’s 2015 float entry is “Changing Lives Through Clean Water.” Many Rotary clubs participate in water projects around the world and we want to help you share that message. Together we can spread this Rotary message further to inspire the world to assist those who need clean water and sanitation. Paul Harris said, In the promotion of Rotary, it is important to reach large numbers and you cannot reach them privately. When Rotary Internationals directors approved the first entry in the parade over 34 years ago, they saw in it an unrivaled opportunity to bring Rotarys name into public view. They reasoned that an eye-catching float would capture the interest of network commentators and remind the world, of Rotarys good works. And so it has! Last year the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee had a viewing audience; over 39 million in the United States and 300 million around the world in more than 220 territories. The Tournament estimates that more than 700,000 are present live on the parade route 100,000 view the floats as they are decorated and approximately 60,000 view the post-parade floats. For the 35th consecutive year the Committee again proudly presents its float to North America and the world . And each year, more clubs enthusiastically contribute financial support to this most important Rotary public relations project. Really good coverage at 10:00 am on KTLA -TV. Enjoy
