Be watchful for people who suddenly become concerned for you. It seems nice that they would take interest in the things that matter to you. But you need to ask yourself, Why? Sometimes, those who seem to be the most genuine people youve ever met, are not genuine at all, and they have a hidden purpose for capturing your attention. They appear to be very interested in you. They may even tell you they want to help you, or pray for you. They want to be very engaged in conversation with you. Their goal is to secure your approval, gain your trust. Once they have your approval, they will flatter you, attempt to seduce you, and try to pump information out of you. You are their target, and you are about to be exploited. They find out what matters to you. They discover your passions, values, weaknesses, routines, flaws, and vulnerabilities. They present themselves as someone who wants to meet your needs. They have made their way into your mind. They now can influence you to make decisions that will serve their agenda, decisions you otherwise would not have made. They want something from you. And they will say whatever they need to say to get what they want. Every interaction they have with you, everything they do in front of you, is for a purpose. These people are everywhere. Religious circles, the workplace, your neighborhood, and maybe even on your couch. Be aware. Chances are, these people are in your life right now. Recognize who these people are, then put lots of distance between yourself and them. Dont ignore the warnings in your gut. Theres a reason your gut is warning you. - Matt McClure
