Bear Referendum Victory-Our Fight is Far From Over By now all of you know we won the Bear Referendum. The campaign was one of the nastiest and most controversial of my lifetime. The leaders of the No on 1 Coalition and volunteers are physically and emotionally exhausted from dealing with months of lies, distortions and the stress of three frivolous lawsuits and another frivolous Ethics complaint. Don’t lose sight of the fact that WE WON! And we won when our opponents out spent us and flooded the airwaves with dishonest ads. What do we do now? SAM is preparing a legislative agenda that will include legislation to protect hunting rights and stop HSUS from abusing our referendum system again. We will not stand by and let HSUS do this again! As that agenda is approved by the SAM Board I will inform SAM members and begin the process of introducing legislation to the next Legislature. In the meantime, we must build our membership to a level that is UNSTOPPABLE. If you are not a member, I cannot reach you effectively when legislation is about to be introduced, I can’t call on you for help. Join SAM! Become a SAM member recruiter, our fight is far from over and we must have a massive grassroots effort to succeed. Although we are tired and want to rest, we can’t.
