Bear cub rescue in Kashmir. A tiny terrified 8 week old moon - TopicsExpress

Bear cub rescue in Kashmir. A tiny terrified 8 week old moon bear cub has been rescued by Wildlife SOS India near Dachigam National Park in Srinagar. The scared cub had taken refuge at the top of a tall tree in a village. Bears and leopards are sometimes found to be burnt alive by hostile communities in Kashmir after fleeing up trees. The Wildlife SOS team was worried that this bear cub would suffer the same fate. A team are looking for the mother bear in the hope that they can reunite her with her cub. Wildlife SOS runs the Moon Bear Conservation Project in Jammu & Kashmir in collaboration with the Wildlife Protection Department and with support from Hauser Bears UK.
