Bear with me. Im so sick of bad customer service and snotty people who are staffing stores I could scream! If you are an entrepreneur or small business owner -- YOU are responsible for making things perfect! Or at least comfortable in your place of business. Today Susan and I were dressed to go in to town and have a nice early dinner, maybe a movie and a little shopping. There is a TV show on HGTV I think that is Fixer Upper. The decorator does an amazing job and a bunch of us have discussed it. She has a shop in Waco called Magnolias. We were interested in looking at a couple of items that are featured on the website. Over the past couple of weeks I had emailed them about different things maybe 4 times. Mainly about consulting and doing some projects at my house. Neat projects I might add. Not mundane work. Even to decorating my 1000 sq ft kennel to be very nice and functional. I figured about 20k Well what a snobby reception we got at the store. We sort of wandered around -- only 2 in the store. No welcome. No nothing!! So I told her Id sent 4 emails but had received no answers. (Ps I was very nice) Her answer we get 1,000s of emails and we are really busy. But we get back to everyone. She never asked what I wanted, what my name was, NOTHING that would encourage us to stay or feel that the shop wanted or needed or have a diddly-darn if we ever were customers or not. Well -- no you dont answer emails. No you dont have customer service worth a darn. And no we would never go back. My tale to all of you is this -- the people from Fixer Upper and Magnolias may seem nice on TV and in the magazine articles. But their public face via their website and their store -- is so lacking it makes me sick. Im sorry I contacted them when they are too busy to be bothered.
