Beards for Higgs’ has raised nearly $15,000 for Kidney Health Australia in honour of Jarryd Higgins, who sadly lost his battle with kidney disease on his 21st birthday in April this year. During his final weeks, Jarryd’s Dad, Uncles, and best mates spent every moment they could with him in hospital and found that they stopped shaving. Originally, they decided to grow their beards until Jarryd left hospital as a sign of support. However, after Jarryd’s passing, ‘Beards for Higgs’ set a new challenge - to grow their beards until Grand Final Day to raise money for KHA.
