The draft will be the last week in August. Produce Shopping Tip: Most weeks I visit many local stores to see who has great local produce (besides us) and where pricing is at. This week I was shocked to find lettuce sold by the lb at one local store! Being in the produce business since I was 14, I can tell you this is a RIPOFF! A case of conventional lettuce this time of year for 24 heads of California lettuce costs a store about $22, thats less than a $1 for a head of lettuce. But when a store sells by the lb, they end up getting 200 to 300% profit off of you and you end up paying $3-$4 for one head of conventional lettuce. Dont let them do this to you, lettuce by the lb is a ripoff. - Bear
