Beatles Because harmony - very intricate and wonderfully constructed Having always been fundamentally a solo guitar player ( though amateur ), I have always been very bad in harmony - that is, dealing with chords, mostly with highly modified chords, as its the case here. I waited one year before feeling able to present you the highly intricated harmony of Because. My fingers could not reach especially one chord in the right time, but I think its better now, though absolutely not good. I chose playing it on the electric because the strings extremely soft, contrary to the hardness of a nylon guitar strings. As my Fender amp is set especially for solo ( as I said, solo guitar is fundamentally what I play ) and very complicated to set up the right sound both for my Les Paul and my Strato, the slight distortion I use for solo becomes slightly heavier when playing chords, and this obviously happened here. In the original amazingly wonderful Beatles recording, the harmony is mostly played by George Martin on an old clavinet, with Johns guitar on the background. One of the many amazing things in Because is that it ends up with a note in suspense. This is an effect due to a complicated diminished chord. I apologize for several badly sounded notes, but, as I said, Im very bad in harmony. Nelson Soucasaux - Gynecologist, writer, visual artist BUT NOT A MUSICIAN... youtu.be/sSmpOGZGVUc
