Beautiful Dexter was owned since birth by the same family. He lived in peace with children (young and teen), dogs and cats. We are told he is housetrained and knows a number of commands. He would love to be petted and lay down on a comfy couch. A volunteer had this to say about him, I was immediately taken by Dexter when I saw him and persisted in my feelings after having spent time with him. He is gorgeous, although skin and bones. I wonder why? He is mostly very well behaved, walks at my pace, stops when I stop, sits and stays on command and even lays down. He is friendly, sociable and yes, he seems to love to be caressed and talked to. Dexter is quite hungry and one wonders if he was fed enough. He is a tall dog who should weigh many more pounds. Dexter seems to like other dogs met in the street, in the park and in the yard. He is not prey driven for birds and squirrels. Dexter is bottom line a fabulous dog. He did guard his food bowl during his behavioral evaluation at the care center, but, although not all skinny dogs display this feature, one can imagine that it might just contribute if the dog was deprived. Dexter deserves a chance, to be ridden from his flaw and to live a happy life with a new owner, who will care for him, feed him, and love him to pieces. Dexter is NEW HOPE ONLY.
