Beautiful. Directed by Chinese filmmaker David Tsui, this short film, called Divorce, follows a couple on the verge of divorce as they relive the most significant moments in their relationship. The film, which was produced by Chinese hair care company Rejoice, is partly a reaction to the surging divorce rate in China. In 2013, 3.5 million Chinese couples filed for divorce, a 13 percent increase from the previous year. Divorce calls attention to the way in which shifting socio-economic forces can affect peoples relationships, as they have in many countries at various times throughout history. During the 1970s, for instance, the divorce rate in the United States more than doubled. China may now be undergoing a similar kind of change. - aplus/a/she-agreed-to-a-divorce-on-one-condition
