Beautiful Walnut Writing Bureau Desk or Dressing Table . £50 in Tweedbank, can deliver locally. Lovely bureau/desk with very pretty Queen Anne style legs, lovely design that is pretty and practical. The two desk top supports automatically extend as the top is lowered. All the drawers move in and out perfectly and they are all nicely made with dovetail joints and original pull handles to the front. Each drawer also has a working lock. Inside the desk a selection of little drawers and dividers hold everything you need. The lid action works well and solid and stable to use. Lid also locks with key. This is a well looked after antique piece of furniture that has been in our family for decades. It is in good used condition however there are small cosmetic marks/blemishes to the wood and veneer but only what you would expect with a vintage piece. Also one of the extending arms needs to be hooked onto the bracket at the back but this can be easily fixed. The writing inlay is slightly frayed and coming up at the edges. We have left it like this and not glued it in case the person buying knows a more suitable method of repair or wants to change it. Dimensions: 764mm across, 420mm deep and 1000mm high.
