Beautiful day, woke up to a chilly 14 degrees and lots of ice flowing but also sunshine for a few hours midday. all the cabins are drained, plants are moved into the lodge from the greenhouse, firewood is in the woodbox and time to relax. These beautiful mums were here when I started working here and every year they bring me such joy on these cold snowy 1st days of winter. The group photo is from the 1st year I worked at Shepp Ranch in 1978. Jerry Hughes mentioned Big C and Mildred, Deanos parents, in another post today which reminded how much they influenced my life and supported Michael and I when we were starting out. We were so lucky to have so many mentors. This fall was Michaels 40th fall working here at Shepp Ranch and my 37th. Life is good.
