Beautiful morning. The soggy wet ground has at last rejoined us. Puddles are still standing in the field so the soaking in is quite slow at this point. I am sad to see puddles still in the arena but drain and ditch fairies have worked their magic on the paddocks and most of the water ran down the slope to lower ground. I had a rather pleasant visit with the old feather wad I call Duck this morning. She was expressing herself nicely after I cleaned her tub and poured in the skratch mixed with just the right amount of cat food. She goes through a lot of this stuff as the birdies join her and share her bounty. In the summer it is squirrels but they have pretty much curled up for the winter. Duck told me she misses the worms and wishes I would bring her some very soon. The shovel took its toll on the creaky old back so not much digging in the compost pile since the ditching began. Next project lined up is to move plants inside before the freeze weather comes. I think my enclosed patio has finally got room. I have had an abundance of stuff to tend to that accumulated in that area. All of it is moving forward at the pace I can do so who can complain with knowing I am the super here and it gets done when I say it gets done. Sounds pretty cocky. I love my life.
