Beauty For Ashes [John 6:42; Isaiah 61:3] In the book of John - TopicsExpress

Beauty For Ashes [John 6:42; Isaiah 61:3] In the book of John chapter 6, Jesus performed the miracle of feeding the multitude with five loaves of bread and two fishes. Jesus continued to declare to them that I am the bread of life that came down from heaven. (John 6:41) but the people grumbled among themselves at this. Then the people murmured among themselves saying Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say I came down from heaven? (John 6:42) You see, thats how we often see people; we judge them by their past or backgrounds. The people never believed Jesus when He said He was the bread of life because they knew His background--they knew His father to be a mere carpenter. This is how it is with us today. We often judge people by their backgrounds and therefore our minds become clouded to the extent that we never see anything good that could come out of them. We consequently form a thought of hopelessness about them; we belittle them. So when we see these same people making it in life, we begin to say things like Is that not the girl in my area whose parents are gardeners? Is that girl not the daughter of the ordinary tomatoes seller? Oh I know this guy from that poor family who wore torn uniforms to school...etc etc. Beloved, it does not matter where you come from; it does not matter your familys financial background; it does not matter where you stand in life now; what matters is that greatness is deposited in your DNA! Jesus father was an ordinary carpenter but that did not thwart His destiny of becoming the greatest Man in history! Do people see you as the one who trailed and did not graduate with them? Do they see you as a nobody? Do they tell you that you cant do it or achieve it because they think youre not qualified to do it? Do people see you on the left side of lifes number line? While people see the ashes of your past and present, see the beauty of your glorious future because God promises ...to bestow on them [YOU] the crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair... Isaiah 61:3 Out of the ashes of your dying past and present, look to the horizons and see the breaking of a brand new day, in which the name of the Lord God alone is glorified! Halleluyah!
