Natural flooding that doesnt damage houses and ruin peoples lives. Ground water recharge. More habitat for birds, mammals, reptiles, and insects. Maybe instead of fining corporations, we should be managing floodplains for those benefits. At least one half of the wetlands have been lost since the 1600s. Maybe those impacts to the environment are more important than restrictions on corporations.
