Because Honey Love was so special to so many of us, and because we would like for Honey’s parents to know how special they are, we are asking for you all to please show Honey’s parents the support and love they so deserve. They lost their sweet dog last night, and are understandably struggling with the loss of one of the best dogs any of us have ever known. It is hard not to remember Honey. Just a short month ago, we asked for a foster home for a dog who had been hit by a car. The impact had caused an ulcerated tumor, and she was left to bleed out on the side of the road. Animal Control got Honey to the vet, where she was treated and recovered before going into a wonderful foster home. Only a few days later, Kelly found out about Honey and the rest was history. Honey joined the Mcginity family in December, and has enjoyed the best weeks of her life. They bonded and loved each other dearly. They did not care about her history, they only cared that she was theirs and that they were going to give her the best life she could imagine. The McGinity family were her angels. The fact that Honey lived through that trauma is nothing short of a miracle. But she must’ve stuck around a little longer so she could feel the true love and warmth of a family. She was able to leave comfortably, with her family next to her, instead of on the side of the road, alone. Honey was one of the best dog many of us have ever had the fortune of knowing. She touched everyone she met. There was something so incredibly special about this dog, and she will always be in our hearts. We didn’t know her long, but she left such an impact on all of us. And the bond she had with her family will never be broken. We are hoping we can all show Honey’s family that they are loved and supported, and that we are so grateful for everything they have done for Honey Love.
