Because it is important to know of and understand events that took place in the past that are having extremely detrimental effects upon us today, past postings that give or acquaint you with information about these events are going to be repeated from time to time. Our Constitution provided a number of checks and balances to protect the states and the people from the national government. Three major pieces of legislation in 1913 destroyed some of the most important checks and balances. Rich and powerful countries are not destroyed overnight. A death of a country is a process that can take a number of decades to centuries, but historians can look back and see where the fatal blow was struck.
