Because it would be too long of a post, Im going to post the reasons why I support the ACA over the next few nights here. I know many will disagree with me, and thats ok, because that is what makes our country great. Just posing my side of it. Also, you should learn more about it: https://healthcare.gov (thanks Leysa Enz Lowery) A few facts: Before the ACA, Arkansans only qualified for medicaid if you were at about the 30% of the poverty rate, after, you qualified if you were at about the 130% rate (and this is NOT the private option fwiw). The private option insurance rates have dropped in Arkansas over the last 6 months every single month. ER visits are only up marginally, access to primary care hasnt been dramatically impeded, and length of stay and hospitalization rates in Arkansas havent changed much. The number of uninsured patients in Arkansas has been cut in half. So, that is it for starters, glad people are thinking about this. There is a reason why republican lawmakers in Arkansas who hate Obama did the right thing for their state in opting in for the private option.
