Because kids could not attend school today (fevers), I had arranged with my ex to drop them off at her mothers apartment this morning. When we arrived, her mother was surprisingly polite and pleasant. Which was odd to me, considering that the last few interactions we had that lasted more than 30 seconds were rather troublesome: misgendering, nasty looks, argumentative, aggressive, not cool. Anyway, I thanked her for taking care of the kids today, and I certainly hope that this is a good sign for the future.
