Because my flight is cancelled and I refuse to watch another Van - TopicsExpress

Because my flight is cancelled and I refuse to watch another Van Damme movie in my room, I now have the time to make my favorite movie list @Kristoferson Guella. Ok you did not exactly tag me and were not exactly friends but what do you do when youre stuck in your hotel, have good wifi connection and have 24 hours free in your hand? You make a $#up!d FB list of course! And Im going to make this by genre because theres a good chance my next flight will be delayed so thats another 2 hours extra. Heres the dumber version of siskel and ebert: Drama: 1. Pans Labyrinth - History, family drama, fantasy and politics from master story teller Guillermo del Toro. 2. Schindlers List - Must have watched this 7 times and each time more powerful and moving than the previous viewing. 3. The Godfather series - All directors and writers of GMA and ABSCBN should watch these films para indi puro amnesia kag kidnapan mga soaps nila. The haunting musical score of Nino Rota is an added bonus 4. Argo - The reason why you cannot always completely hate Ben Affleck. 5. The Departed - The best partnership of Di Caprio and Scorsese. Suspense/ Thrillers 1. Silence of the Lambs - To the Aljur Abrenicas and Jessy Mendiolas, forget acting schools. Watch Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins and LEARN. 2. Bourne Series starring Matt Damon - Have to watched all films the 2nd or 3rd time coz I didnt get it the first time 3. Diabolique - Scorching chemistry between Meg Tilly and Gina Gershon. 4. The Usual Suspects - 2 Words. Keyser Soze. 5. Zodiac - This one from David Fincher actually scared the $#!+ out of me. Must be Robert Downey jrs hair. Action/ Adventure 1. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - Dazzling, mesmerizing and just pure cinematic experience. 2. Terminator 1&2 - for me The perfect edge of your seat action movie that actually has a cohesive story (for extreme comparison, at the bottom end of the spectrum is the multi billion garbage called Transformers) 3. Raiders of the Lost Ark - The first movie that I watched alone at May Theater. I still remember the rush and goosebumps. 4. StarWars Trilogy - My initiation to the Dark Side. :-) 5. Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Note to Michael Bay - This is how you spend Billions in movies and make it worth it. Comedy: 1. Romy and Michelle High School Reunion - Back when I share my Apt with Tokwang before he blocked me on FB (were still real life friends) this is our de-facto, no-brainer, default form of entertainment whenever we have guests. The Time after Time dance sequence is priceless and theres the pre-Jen Aniston hotness of Justine Theroux as the Cowboy. 2.The Birdcage - LOL performances from Christine Baranski, Robbin Williams and Nathan Lane. The Dinner scene alone is worth the haggling at your favorite DVD pirated outlet. 3. All Judd Apatow produced comedies especially Pineapple Express 4. Team America World Police by Parker and Stone. IMHO is a lot more wicked, trashy and funny than South Park. 5. Michael & Madonna. If theres one tagalog movie, this is it. Alongside Manilyn Reynes, this is enough proof that Rene Requiestas is a comic Genius. Horror: 1. Evil Dead/living dead? (Whatever) its about a bunch of really slow stupid zombies vs a bunch of stupidier living people trapped in a mall or something. I dont really remember the plotless plot. Its memorable because it gave me nightmares for the next 12 months. So if you find me unbearable sometimes, blame this movie. 2. Drag me to Hell - Post-living dead and ive become totally immune from horror films but this one which can also be very funny has some really scream-inducing moments. 3. Zombieland - This is also technically a comedy but it has the word Zombie in the title so you cannot be more Horrorier than that. Favorite scene is when they accidentally killed Bill Murray who played Bill Murray in the movie. 4. Psycho - for comparison watch also the frame by frame remake of Gus Van Sant. 5. The Blair witch Project = the precursor of found footage genre + unknown actors + 5$ budget + brilliant marketing strategy. Filipino 1. Oro Plata Mata - Great production design, cinematography and Mitch Valde in her birthday suit. 2. Kisapmata - featuring IMHO the greatest performance by a filipino actor - Vic Silayan 3. Pare Ko - This is Joey Reyes paean to Bagets. Way better. 4. Bigtime - Mario Cornejos debut. Clever, witty, frenetic and well acted by the entire cast. 5. Himala. Im a Noranion. Ok. Guilty pleasure 1. Nottinghill - 2. One more chance - My brothers favorite movie. 3. Before series by Linklater/Hawke/Delpy 4. Takbo Peter Takbo - This stars Chiquito and Palito. Had fun watching the people watching this is in our house because You can actually grab their hair and kick them during the scary scenes and they wouldnt mind. 5. Mama Mia the Musical - Ohhh oohooh hooo ooh ho ho. Special mention - Wizard of Oz. The first movir I saw in a movie house with my brother.
