Because of the interest after the announcement that the documentary Something of Love: A Tribute to Roger Amm received the New York Festivals Television & Film Awards Bronze World Medal and a 47th Annual Houston International Film Festival Remi Award, I wanted to provide you a link to the documentary for online viewing (for those interested). You can see it below. We had initially prevented putting this online since all of the sales of the DVD of the documentary benefit the OTHS Educational Foundation. If you watch it online, please still consider buying a DVD... each purchase of a DVD helps the music program at Ottawa Township High School. There are extras on the DVD (including the unedited full celebration of Roger Amm and live performance of Something of Love) that you cant see online. They are $20 and I can provide you information on where and how you can get one. Thanks for all your support of this project! And because I did not nearly have enough time in my thank you remarks at the award ceremony to cover all the bases, thank you to my fellow board members on the OTHS Educational Foundation, OTHS superintendent Matt Winchester for creating the environment to make this program, and those of you who helped make this happen (and I am tagging those who are on Facebook so please dont feel offended if you were left out because there are so many I am thankful to) Veronica LaPage Skubal Nathalie Hess Schmidt Joanne Farabaugh Christine Armstrong, Sarah Reckmeyer Daniel Skubal Debbie Einhaus-Knoll Andrea Perry Jacque Larson Clift Randy Greene Brad Johnson the faculty and staff at Ottawa Township High School Absolute Media Shannon Stevens NaTalie Rowe Alexander Justin Taylor Nixon Carrie Wisehart Ross Wheeler Brian Steep Heather McDowell Francis Tracey Payne OFallon Nathan Miller The Times Newspaper Karen Rhodes Jay LeSeure Rick Koshko WCMY Phil McDowell the Pontiac Daily Leader for all their support and continuing interest in this project. Stacey Tomczyk and Linda Miller at WTVP for all of their enthusiasm and unrestricted support in getting it broadcast, and for all the other outlets in Illinois that picked the program up and re-broadcast it throughout the state. Julie Johnson and the wonderful staff at the OTTAWA ILLINOIS VISITORS CENTER OFFICIAL SITE who helped us fulfill pre-orders of the DVD and sales, who helped fund the project, and who have been tireless supporters along the way. The staffs at Jeremiah Joe and Wide Water Gallery who have supported our efforts to sell DVDs and raise money for the OTHS Educational Foundation. Ryan Nevins, Chris Aubry, Carleigh Damron, Kelly Ricker, Skydive Chicago, and certainly Tyler, Andrew, and Mrs. Amm for help and support along the way. And the guy who its about, Roger Amm. As you can see, it takes a village (in this case a town) to win awards like this. I am extremely proud to be from Ottawa Illinois and I hope the documentary shows the world a little piece of the best of us, and why it is important to support local public education. This documentary is exactly an example of the impact of a public education and support of the arts in schools. Thanks Again! newyorkfestivals/winners/2014/pieces.php?iid=460731&pid=1
