Because somebody else took it to the extreme we are no longer able to spank our kids or its "abuse", we cannot put our kids to work early so they learn good work ethic or it will be "child labor", and to avoid injuring their psyche we should use positive reinforcement. Well last time I checked no boss ever gave me a raise to encourage me to do good when I was already doing bad. Sometimes kids just need discipline.
