Because there is so much happening in so many places and so many being affected by the fires it is difficult for people to get accurate information. Realize many of the reports are second hand and/or rumors which can be exaggerated. Not to take away from the seriousness out there but please try not to add more fear or panic. Pateros community was hit the hardest yet reports are all of the business district is still intact and the majority of the homes were saved. What they dont have is water and power. They are hoping for water today although until certified safe it must be boiled if used for consumption. The fire danger to the town has passed and they will recover. Also because we live in Paradise it seems everyone wants to give and help out. There are so many places setting up online fund raisers, people trying to collect everything from clothing to bedding, and other places collecting money that it is overwhelming knowing what really is needed and where. My suggestion is that if you wish to help is to follow KOHO radio Facebook page. Being in Chelan they are the closest community and where shelters are set up for those displaced. If you follow their page they will have as accurate information as is out there on what the needs actually are and how you can help.
