Because we are an urban species now, and dont grow up on self-sufficient farms any more we miss this part of life. If we are to be meat-eaters on Paleo Diets then this kind of animal treatment will go on. I do not like Factory animal processing. I understand the economics but still feels that there is a better way. The animals about to give up their life for us do not have to suffer unnecessarily at human hands. Abide by the Golden Rule. I like to eat meat: Steak, bacon, eggs, chicken, fish, milk, cheese. In U.S. Army Special Forces training I have gone Bruce Bo Grylls one better eating bugs, weeds, snakes, etc. I believe that we should eat meat sparingly in times of famine and/or winter. I believe that we should kill the animals in the most humane way possible - Kosher. I believe that we should, like the First Nations, honor the kill in the best possible traditions. After all, the animal gave up its life so that we might live. What have we done daily to improve our lot?
