Become an Original Cosponsor on Legislation to Commemorate our POW and MIA at the U.S. Capitol From: The Honorable Stephen F. Lynch Sent By: [email protected] Date: 1/14/2015 Current Original Cosponsors: Benishek (R-MI, 1), Bishop (R-UT, 1), Bordallo (D-GU), Clark (D-MA, 5) Deutch (D-FL, 21), Jolly (R-FL, 13), Jones (R-NC, 3), Keating (D-MA, 9) King (R-NY, 2), Lance (R-NJ, 7), McGovern (D-MA, 2), Rangel (D-NY, 13), Rice (R-SC, 7), Roe (R-TN, 1), Tsongas (D-MA, 3), Cartwright (D-PA, 17) I will be reintroducing a bill to bring to the United States Capitol a powerful daily reminder of the promise we made to our brave Prisoners of War and those still missing in action. This legislation will be identical to H.R. 5391, the National POW/MIA Remembrance Act of 2014, to honor our POW/MIA by authorizing placement of a commemorative chair on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. Last year, I had the opportunity to meet with Joe D’Entremont, President of the Rolling Thunder Massachusetts Chapter 1, who brought this initiative to my attention. These commemorative chairs, which carry the POW/MIA insignia, have already been placed in cities and towns around our nation. These seats remain perpetually unoccupied as a reminder of the 91,000 brave servicemembers still waiting to be brought home. These brave men and women served our nation with valor and honor. This commemorative chair will serve as a reminder to our POW/MIA and their families that we will never forget them. I invite you to join me as an original cosponsor. If you have any questions or wish to be added as an original cosponsor, please contact Mariana Osorio at [email protected]. Stephen F. Lynch (MA-8)
