Becoming a Cross/Burden-helper/bearer, aka “Fulfilling the law - TopicsExpress

Becoming a Cross/Burden-helper/bearer, aka “Fulfilling the law of Christ” (Gal.6:2): Jesus is the Messiah. No one else could/can do His job, but this job involved dying on a cross. He was asked to carry His cross to the execution location by Himself. Note that His job was to die on the cross, not carry the cross. Dying on the cross, only He could do, but ‘carrying’ the cross, others could. Even His executioners recognized this and so asked someone from the ‘on-looking’ crowd to ‘assist’ Jesus carry His cross to the execution location. Sometimes in life, we misunderstand what our roles need to be in relation to others. Sometimes we easily identify people ‘destined’ to die on crosses and just standby like Jesus’ crowd, looking, without realizing that we may need to help someone ‘carry’ their cross, so they can fulfill the destiny of dying on their cross. Cross/burden-bearers cannot ‘change’ a person’s situation/destiny, but can certainly help make their lives more bearable as they strive to fulfill their destiny. Cross/burden-bearers assist with difficult situations, rather than change the outcome. The outcome might never change, but you can change the weight of the burden borne by the cross-owner. How to become a cross/burden-bearer: do you see/know someone with a heavy load? Reach out and help them ‘carry’ the load. Don’t worry, your job is only temporary. Theirs goes on long after yours is over.
