Bedtime! Didnt post last night because I dozed off in my chair and woke up late. Made an awesome ham for dinner. Kinda felt like a little slice of Christmas! Got to thinking today about kids today and how sad it is how theyre being raised! Weve got 5 kids here. Aged 13, 11, 5, 4 and 3. Dont get me wrong, were all doing a fine job raising them, but it used to be so much better! Used to be if it was halfway decent outside, we could go wander the neighborhood! We used to make friends with other kids we met nearby. Now days, no one lets their kids out hardly! No wonder theyve turned to electronics to fill the time! And this is called progress? Somehow, I dont believe it! I remember riding my bike for miles! Got exercise, had some bad accidents and met tons of people! Not every one is a bad person or a pedophile! Trouble is, who wants to take that chance with THEIR child? No one! So kids are in perpetual lockdown..I just think its sad! I dream about my childhood, so active and carefree, The friends I made, the pets I met, all prepared me for today. My awesome bike, the cactus patch I met one awful day, I learned how to carry on, even when life gets in my way! My childhood was not all grins and giggles, but at least I felt safe to walk out my door! Were not paranoid here either! About two years ago a young girl knocked on my door wanting to call her mom. She was walking home from school and a van was following her! IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD! Scared the poo out of me! Hard to know what to do anymore..sigh. Good night all, sleep tight and dream of that steep hill you conquered when you were a kid!
