Bedtime Thunk: Your friends become what you portray of yourself....and people will judge you by who surrounds you. I was thinking tonight of how many times I have made friends with someone only to find that they soon didnt want to be around me much and not too long after, were out of my life. I used to think there was something wrong with me....but I think that we attract certain kinds of people into our lives....if we stay true to our core: kindness, forgiveness...you know...Christ in action......a lot of people are going to drop out of your life....and while it hurts...if you take a look around you...you will see that you will be surrounded by people who are just like you! There are certain things I am drawn too in another person....there is a kindred spirit with people... Let people who want to walk out of your life go.....and focus on the ones who want to stay.... Then you can take a good look in the reflection of yourself in them.....what you see in your friends...they see in you! Most often when folks wander out of your life....you will see qualities in them that you simply do not value...be thankful they have left....otherwise you would have been just like them. I keep thinking of a sermon one time, by Elder Melvin Jackson...how as a boy they would bury the steel balls deep in the ground...then take a magnet and wave it over the ground and the balls would jump up to the magnet.....he compared it to when the Lord returns and how we would "jump" up like that to God... Sometimes I think that we "attract" others like a magnet would those steel balls....I guess I just think we ought to be choosy what we let stick to us.... meh~jest thunkin~
