Bedtime story An old lady lived alone with her dog. At night the dog slept aside her on the floor. When he got nervous he would making whining and crying sounds. One night he wouldn’t stop whining. She finally awoke, annoyed with all the puppy crying sounds from the floor. As she sat up she heard a dripping sound. She sleepily stumbled downstairs and shut off the tap. She then climbed back into bed, pulling the covers up over her shoulders. Later she woke to more whining, so she wondered what the dog was so worried about. Frustrated she sat up again. As she scratched her head she heard the tap again. She walked downstairs again confused and went up to the sink. She held her hand under the faucet, yet there was no water coming out. But the dripping sounded so close. She was alert now, as she turned on the lights. She took a sharp breath as she saw her dog on the table lifeless. A sinking feeling hit her, as she wondered what had been whining all night aside her on the floor.
