Bee-killing neonics arent just dangerous -- it turns out they - TopicsExpress

Bee-killing neonics arent just dangerous -- it turns out they might also be useless. Right now, the EPA is undergoing a review of neonic pesticides to investigate their impact on pollinators -- like bees -- and determine if their use actually helps protect crops. They recently studied the effect of neonics on soy crops and found they provide little or no overall benefits to soybean production, and that there is little or no increase in soybean yields using most neonicotinoid[s]...when compared to using no pest control at all. [1] Thats right, the EPA found that neonics may not be any more effective than using no pesticide at all! Scientists already believed these nerve-agent pesticides were responsible for killing almost a third of our bee population every year, and for putting the health of our food supply and our families at risk.
