Been absent for the past week having been on vacation. Among the stops along the way was the Confederate Cemetery at Bloomfield Mo, A tour of Vicksburg including the battlefield park and the preserved wreck of the ironclad Cairo, and then on to New Orleans to tour the Chalmette Battlefield of the War of 1812, the Civil War Museum (outstanding collection of documented artifacts) and the WW2 Museum among other places. Came back up towards the Red River and went through Alexandria La where a major fort still is visible and part of a park. I have many pictures of Vicksburg yet to download. And have Metal detecting fever after visiting so many cool places.
