Been doing a lot of research about the Elephant Parks in Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand). I have a couple of sanctuaries (that rescue elephants who are being mistreated) at the top of the list, like the Elephant Nature Park. As much as Id like to, still on the fence about whether Im going to go ride one (bc of well-being for the elephants). A lot of conflicting information. But if I do, will be bare back behind its neck, no chair, like at Baachang Elephant Park. Definitely welcome feedback from any friends who have been in that region. Want to support the programs that give the animals freedom to roam around and good care, dont make them do unnatural tricks for tourists (like heel stands), and dont tear them away as babies from their parents in order to break their spirit :/
