Been for a ride today on m/cycle. 386 Km (236 miles) all up. Stopped off in Bena to visit Kevin & Val Kane only to find that they had sold up and moved house! Also stopped off to visit Pr Phil Gager at Mirboo North. He was out. Did have a very pleasant but short visit with his better half though. For those interested ... the weather was, in a two words, mostly foul! Rain, cloud and cold, and wet, slippery roads. Views from the highlands limited to not more than 1 km, really poor from the ridges. No view from above Trafalgar - normally get a great view of the Latrobe River Valley. No pics this trip, weather was too lousy. But the bush was still beautiful - tall timbers, thick undergrowth. Came across a wee wet & bedraggled wallaby obeying the road rules in Powelltown - hopping down the road, going in the correct direction for the side of road, and keeping within the road markings and speed limit - also a male lyrebird with full lyre (tail) trailing behind (not in town limits). Have tried loading a google map pic of the route, but FB wants JPG and similar formats, wont accept PDF or docx. Route basically a figure 8 - Croydon Hills to Drouin, Lang Lang, Leongatha, Meenyan, Mirboo North, Trafalgar, and home via the freeways, Princes and Eastlink.
