Been getting quite a few reels from customers where the original place recently serviced, charged them and said the problem was fixed & the reel overhauled. Only thing is...the problem wasnt fixed. This reel had a bad grinding noise on the left side. So I try to shim it, but this is a C series and C series with non adjusting right caps are basically self aligning. Shims did nothing. Tested the left bearing and sure enough it was rough, so it got replaced. Checked out the drags and sure enough....worn stock drags stuck to the discs, so they were replaced with new carbonfiber drags. (Wasnt it just serviced by someplace else?!) After all that, the grinding noise still persisted..... Fault main gear.....replaced it with a NOS SS main gear from my buddies at the factory and she sounds so much better. I pride myself on reels like this. For me to receive something in less than perfect condition and get it working RIGHT when another place couldnt, is what I love.
