Been (happily) tagged by the lovely and talented Coleen Hayes to pick ten songs that have influenced me in my life – it made for a very sweet way to reminisce on a cold Sunday evening…. Top 5 I Would Die 4 U – Prince: I remember working my first job, at McDonalds, which I HATED, and hearing this in the break room for the first time. It gave me the will to go on… Great Atomic Power: Louvin Brothers… The album cover alone says “you are about to listen to The Best Thing Ever”. The songs TOTALLY keep the promise The Circle Game – Judy Collins: My 8th grade chorus teacher made us learn this to sing at graduation. He was very gay WAY before it was OK to be gay and teach, had horrible breath and looked like he was crying all the time. I sang my damn heart out for him. Blinker the Star… My Dog Says….Oh, Lordy, this is just impossibly good.
