Been home for two days after having oral surgery. My body decided to reject a tooth implant, or at least cause extensive infection into my jaw bone. It was worse than the Oral Surgeon thought it was going to be and the operation lasted 1 and 1/2 hours. More than 50 stitches to close my gums on both sides on the top of my mouth. While it was difficult to sit through the scraping and jarring sound in my head, the pain after has not been too excruciating. But I am glad for pain meds, ice and sleep. Nothing heals like being able to sleep and let your body recover. I am hopeful the bone grafts take and I do not have to go through anymore of these procedures. Thinking going toothless if this is not successful. I am getting old anyway, so no one will think much of me gumming my food from here on out! I know why Dentists have such a hard time having friends.....lol
