Been interested in WW1 history of late and have posted about Newton Countys connections to it (including my own grandfather). Stumbled across this commercial (of all things) that dramatically memorialized an actual event in 1914. On Christmas of that year, German and Allied troops listened to one another sing Christmas carols across No Mans Land. They left their trenches and met in between for a short truce. It actually happened in several places and several fronts. For a least one day, the carnage stopped as they exchanged gifts and food. This has to be one of the most remarkable commercials I have ever seenhttps://youtube/watch?v=NWF2JBb1bvM.
