Been listening to Bob quite a bit lately thanks to this Fan Club; Got me thinking again, so, I wrote this and thought I would share, even though I was listening to John Prine as I wrote it...I hope its okay to put it here The 20 Teens (Times Keep Changing, Bob) Things are shifting in the 20 teens shaping the future and our in betweens Talking heads and sensational news stories that last weeks Shaping our minds into what they’d have us to think Lies and alibis, sound bytes, meant to confuse those that seek Apathy and empathy trying to make sense of the scene While they turn and wink; corporations and politicians smile, and there are holes in my jeans Voices and lessons of yester year lost to graveyards and to fear Cracks in our foundation are bigger than last year Us verse them, them verse us, the Divine is lost walled out of site, out of mind, making nothing clear dumbing us down into a heartless abyss While they turn and wink; corporations and politicians smile, and there are holes in my jeans The first will be last and the last first is our hope, not dope Hopeless is the food they serve, war is our dessert, Division and excuses, and ghost enemies, old and new to subdue Fool us into thinking might is right, reasons kept from our site Corrupt puppets, crooked smiles chasing wealth and greed They turn and wink; corporation and politicians smile, and there are holes in my jeans Revolution as a solution, but whose might will be right Whose truth will be real, distorted views tossed on the pile Prejudiced realities lost in violence and reactionary voices Chaotic choices and pain flowing in the broken streets Eclipsed by hate, not love of one another, a people as one Without His laws to lead and define; revolution is aimless So they turn and wink; corporations and politicians smile, and there are holes in my jeans Written while listening to John Prine,(Sorry) Jan 16th, 2015….Kevin Dillon…Gotta go and get my utility bill in the cities mailbox. I find comfort in knowing that God is still on the throne, and he will straighten this mess out…someday…(soon?) Could be or Not…I need to focus on Him.
