Been listening to local news radio station WBEN during this snowstorm and people are calling into the state and county authorities saying they have tow trucks, snowmobiles, snowplows, 4 wheel drives etc etc looking to help people who are stranded or in need of medicines. They say the authorities are telling them thanx but no thanx. This concerns me greatly. If it were a tornado people would flood to the disaster areas themselves and help pull people out from underneath piles of brick and 2X4s. No need to ask the authorities where can I go as it is a defined location where the disaster hit. With this storm, its almost the entire county. People are calling to volunteer!!! Just guide us to the location where help is needed!!! Tell us that snowmobiles are needed to get food/water/gas to stranded vehicles and the people inside!! Knowing WNY and the politics & union structure....Im guessing state & county decision makers are keeping the brethren happy by providing serious overtime for the snowplow drivers and the emergency responders. I would not be surprised if there is something written in contracts where overtime work potential cannot be given to scabs (concerned citizens who just want to help the community) 6 people have died so far....Part 2 is on its way this evening and all day tomorrow. I hope I am wrong........
