Been saying this is where the trimming needs to start. The joke of democracy is we listen to politicians tell us what we want to hear before we elect them and then they do what they please for 4 years, piss either us or their opposition off and call for the next election only to have the same cycle happen again. Meanwhile they enact bills that they dont need us to approve such as for their wages and pensions and they dont need to tell us about it at all. Example.. in 2006 Ontario MPPs got a 25% raise from their then salary of $88k to $110k. I dont care if people will argue that there was a freeze of increases for years before, $88k is pretty healthy considering the lifetime pensions they are entitled to.
