Been so busy getting life back to some sense of order I forgot to tell you about What an incredible weekend it was. First things First it all began with a packed SUV as we drove down to San Diego &.Got aboard the Star Of India at The Marked Men Pirate Party which I had been wanting to attend since 2008 So with a tight laced luscious corset and one smoking hot pirate hat on ...the real shenanigans began... Not only was the Ship AMAZING Inside & Out ....so much was going on around us like Getting Pictures taken , Watching real Sword Fighting comparable to Medieval Times , Song Hammer Cosplay Rock Band jamming below, Belly Dancing Khaleesi , Half Naked Mermaids Dangling off Decks , Calypso fortune-telling , Rum ,Rum did I mention the RUM! Everyone was so friendly met a lot of cool new people. The best is running into some awesome Cosplay friends who willing shared the love by giving up a upgraded VIP access at no extra cost 😃 At the end of the night a portion of the Ship broke off into a dance party where everyone no matter who you were got down and included each other. My friend James Anderson asked where we were staying afterwards? and when I told him our SUV he wouldnt have it so he made a quick call and had us invited to stay over at his friends pad. We felt right at home and soon we all spent the night talking about all things nerdy , geeky and Disney till 4@m Got up early and took them both to SDCC so they wouldnt take the trolley and agreed to meet back up later. We drove straight away to La Jolla and first took a much needed nap. After waking up we got our Kayaking On!!! Padding through the waves and into caves filled with Sea Lions. We quickly noticed all the snorkeling people around us swimming with the sea lions and it sparked your interest you would have to come back and do this ourselves. We left and headed to eat at some sushi because I had been craving it. So we voyaged on an found the best suggested place Which was smart because it turned out to be so delicious. Once our bellies were full of fish got in our car racing to barely make a Cosplay After Party we had been invited too on time. All the best people at play were there some of the costumes in the contest were just jaw dropping. Everyone was dancing and having a blast I even got to dance coyote ugly style on a bar top (hehehe) After drinking a shot or two and plenty of hugs I was ready to depart and leave on a high note. Overnight we had slept in our SUV and when we woke it was to rain drops that quickly turnned into full fledged rain thunder and lightning that shook our SUV and set off the car alarms around us. This certainly was going to dampen our snorkeling but we had a good idea that it might die down so we decided we were going to go find some street tacos and wait it out. Its a good thing we did too good because by the time we were stuffed with salsa and steak yumminess it was once clear again and we could set out on our already intended Adventures with of course a quick detour to a local aquarium... I mean hey why not right?..Seahorses are too cute to pass up... After the aquarium we stopped an bought ourselves some cheap snorkeling gear then headed back to La Jolla Cove. Walking down the sidewalk we know that the little store off to her right hand side we decided to take a sneak peek since were just about there anyway We kept shopping an didnt realize it at the time when Paul mentioned there might be a second level but as we kept walking downstairs we realized we have just discovered an underground Secret Cave leading to The Sea I swear it was almost Indiana Jones worthy. Coming back up the stairs and out of the underground we headed toward the Sun went down to the Cliffs and jumped into the Ocean filled with Sea Life. Orange Gruber fish were not afraid of us at all even when we dove down to try and touch them. Many times I swear I felt like a Mermaid. Just about then I decided I was in be brave enough to swim in the caves I had kayaked before to get up close and personal with the Sea Lions... and man what an experience it was... they were so close you can almost reach out and touch them sitting on the ledges inside. In fact at one point they started pushing each other off into the water right near where we were standing I have to admit it is a little intimidating and I got nervous so I was ready to explore the the fish again. Looking down at the brilliantly friendly orange fish I did not notice it at first but a massive sea lion started swimming up towards me and underneath my feet... I never knew I could scream underwater but what an adrenaline RUSH. Close the three hours we went swimming with those Sea Lions and the only reason I decide to stop its cuz my hands literally became numb from the cold temperatures. It was an experience that I hope I get to re live and I know I will never forget. Paul & I decided to head home and figured we would leave with that experience. You think that would have been the end of our adventures but the next one was so unexpected... Halfway home all of a sudden Paul turned to me and said do you see that? I looked over to see a man literally hanging on the driver side door in the middle of traffic. At first I thought it was just a fun thing they were doing since we were only going stop and go at that time , that was until we both witnessed him punching and slapping the inside driver until they pulled over. Thats when Paul crossed all lanes of traffic to try and see if we can help or at least stop the domestic issue. I had no idea that Paul was Bruce Wayne aka Batman!!! He flew out his car and came right at that guy ready to throw down as he was punching the lights out of a woman..... I pulled out my phone I was trying to take pictures of the license plate when I realized there was none it was a brand new car just then the guy saw that Paul was coming at him to beat the daylights out of him he became a coward and ran to his passenger side door and told the woman to drive away. We both jumped back in the SUV and followed the car for almost an hour witnessing the guy verbally screaming at the woman grabbing her sunglasses throwing them out the side window and swerving all over the road. We got on the phone and called 911 who directed us to CHP and stayed on the line which seem like an eternity at the time finally got to witness as he got pulled over. Both of our hearts were beating out of our chest.. because I never saw that side of him before that night I never realized till that moment that my man was a undercover Superhero! Which if you come to think about it set the theme of the weekend anyway due to all the Comic Book happenings going on. By the time we came to the door I was never so glad to see my bed. Glad I had one more day of relaxation to recover but truth be told Im missing all the adventures an friends already. Thankfully I know theres always new things on the horizon to discover.
