Been taking in the damage for the weekend .... The rain and wind do stop folks from attending. And when you live on outside events well ...there are repercussions. We know this ... but its still something to look at when it occurs. All that we do ties into the other programs and thus, the stability of YEA! relies on all pieces moving well. The bands exist because of the Cadets, the Cadets live because of the success of the bands, and XCAPE allows YEA! to have an excellent headquarters in Allentown. Different programs but the same mission -- supporting the development of young people to magnificence!!! SO ... Step 1 -- to take and chart the results Step 2 -- what is our response to the shortfalls At this point, i need more info .... and that will wait until tomorrow. I am done for now until I can get to the office .... Happy Sunday !!!! Two events today in the wind !!!! UGH!!!! Some great work today. We received numerous accolades on the Music and Motion event from directors ... and the team in NJ did a great job of managing 65 bands in adverse conditions. And most all of YEA! worked 18 hour days. And thank god for our volunteers and show staff !!!!! As I reviewed all ... > Chattanooga went wel > As noted, the Annapolis event is the beginning of a great collaboration between our fellow drum corps l > Boise danced between he raindrops > a first year event in Vegas begins what we hope will be a train of events > and three year ending finales completed the Texas USBands season Much to consider ... Perhaps the only real disappointment --- a drop in attendance of about 1200 folks at Met Life due to the rain and wind. Of course I expect such shifts when the weather turns, but ... we still have to respond and react. And its still a challenge ... or is that an opportunity :-) But ... even I need some sleep. See all on Sunday. Did you turn your clock back ??
